Moss is designed to work without an account or online service. If something is not working as expected, the checks below resolve the most common issues.

## Meditation timer and completion sounds

- Keep Moss open if you want the completion sound to play directly in the app.
- To hear the completion sound while Moss is in the background, enable **Background completion alerts** in Moss and allow notifications with sounds in iOS Settings.
- You can preview and change the completion sound from **Settings → Completion sound**.
- Ending a session early does not add it to your progress.

## Practice reminders

- Open **Settings → Reminders** in Moss and confirm reminders are enabled.
- Check that the practice times and reminder lead times are correct.
- In iOS Settings, confirm Moss is allowed to send notifications.
- If notification sounds are disabled at the system level, reminders may appear without a sound.

## Practice history and settings

Meditation history, schedules, reminders, preferences, and optional post-session feelings are stored on your device. Moss does not require an account and cannot restore this local data after the app is deleted.

To permanently remove Moss data and scheduled notifications, open **Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete all Moss data**.
